It was a pleasure to take photographs of such a lovely mommy. What a lovely gesture also to be doing these photos as a surprise to her husband, so those who see them, please help us in keeping it a surprise until she gets to reveal it.
Little Mr R had a bit of a cold but was such a good sport. He helped setting up the background and lights. It was so cute how he would allow us to take some pics then he got upset and moved away. But when mom changes positions or changed clothing it started looking interesting again, so he would return. Fun.
Here are your sneak peek, hope you enjoy. First the pink ribbon:

This one I love. You look so pretty and very happy:

The last one for your sneak peek, is one of you and R, he adores the doggy and I am glad we got one where the doggy’s face is visible as well.

Time for a little personal post. Today was the first after school activity day and Bianca did football. She loved it. Only girl between all the boys. They ran and kicked balls and she even scored a goal.It was pretty hot though, have to remember to stock up on sunscreen and water for next time.
I got some action shots. These are only snap shots, and I cropped out all the others trying to catch her so the quality is not perfect:

I thought I’d just let you know that October/ November is completely booked. I am not taking any bookings for December as I will be returning to South Africa for a vacation.
From 18 January to 11 February I am not taking any bookings since I will be doing school photos. However, if you are a mommy-to-be that will reach 36 weeks during this time or if your little one is born during this time I will definitely make an exception.
For the rest of January I have only 2 sessions open, 13th and 15th. We are already into the bookings for February. So contact me to set a date for you! From time to time there might be cancellations and you are welcome to contact me regarding the possibility of taking one of these spaces, but please note that I will not always be able to help you.
I am only taking a maximum of 4 sessions a week (2 during the week and 2 over the week ends). Custom photography is not just about snapping pictures its about editing those of the best quality, presenting them and then ordering them from the best printing labs. All of these things take time and care. I am sure you’d prefer I spend the allocated time to make your session’s photos the best they can be rather than rushing.

Thanks for having me in your home M and R. How exciting to wait out the surprise. I’ll be checking my email from Christmas day on words to see if we know what the little darling is! Another newborn due on Christmas day. Hmm, maybe I should had out and get a red and white baby hat somewhere…
Here are your sneak peek photos, hope you enjoy!
Love this one, showing the baby belly beautifully.

Hi there, baby! Two very friendly people are waiting here for you.

A Little bit of studio work. Beautiful curves.

And this one was taken as one of the last ones. We played a little with lighting. I love how natural you look here, beautiful!

My goodness, it’s not often you meet a family where every single member is drop dead gorgeous. But I did, today! Okay, to be fair, I’ve known mom and daughter for a bit but then today I discover everyone is beautiful.
Their session was fun and I adored Mr L and his seriously charming mannerisms. He is a natural model. Ms S could not get the whole smile without saying cheese idea until we let her jump up and down, and then she melted and had fun.
Thanks B for working your magic with the reflector for me. There is some lovely shots to come. Hope you enjoy your sneak peek.
Ms S after a bout of jumping.

Then it was L’s turn. He was climbing trees, lieing on the grass and did whatever we asked. Very photogenic too!

Ms S climbing and having fun, this was just before the end of the session.

One of the last pics taken – Mr L on top of the climbing frame about to slide down the pole. I just love his eyes.

And I kept this amazing shot of the two together for last.

All I can say is wow! What a pleasure to work with such a gorgeous mommy. When I grow up I want to be just as fabulous, not to mention when I was pregnant, I wish! No seriously, she is so gracious, so beautiful. I enjoyed it tremendously that we could just take our time with our session and try different things without having to rush since the kids were in school, and we got to play…
Thanks for being game to try out a few suggestions. I think you will appreciate the results to come. Here are a few and since I couldn’t choose just 2 or 3, I chose 5!
Firstly one at the window. I loved the serenity of this photo, the calmness of waiting for this precious bundle.

Then a series of three photos of the beautiful tummy in every angle!

And now for the one where we had some fun:

I love this family. It was a relaxing session since the children know me (Ms L is a friend of Bianca’s), and even the dog know me. I enjoyed having a session where even Chloe the dog got to be on her share of the photo’s.
We had great fun and took a ton of photos. Now I just have to edit them all!
Here are your sneak peek, and might I say you will just have to go at least a shadow mount on the last one of the kids. Its just too gorgeous!
Ms L giving big bro a kiss:

Ms L, showing off a ballet dress. She was following my drama cues to a tee. I told her to look up and smile coy etc. and then at the end told her to let loose:)

And then this is the one that I love and took specifically for a close crop, possibility of a shadow mount:

I ordered a new product about a week ago and it arrived this morning. I am very satisfied. So much so that I think its my favorite mount product now. It’s a step above the regular mounting of prints since it adds dimension to the mount. A shadow mount is a print on lustre paper, mounted to styrene, in turn mounted onto a wooden frame. The dark wood frame is about 1.5 inches thick and therefore the picture really makes a statement. Really lovely.
I chose 2 pictures of Bianca in 11 inches by 14 inches to mount and hung them below each other. Perfect effect, precisely what I wanted.

And from the side:

I received a clients order and also my album I had ordered as sample for the studio and thought I should post some pictures. The storyboards are turning out really beautifully. The colours are vibrant. For sepia tone and black and white the pictures are perfectly balanced. The storyboards are printed on lustre finish (giving it a high gloss effect) and it is then mounted on either styrene (2mm thick foam board), as standouts of either 1/4 inch or 3/4 inch, or they could be mounted on Masonite (1/8 inch thick). This particular storyboard was mounted on Masonite. It is really sturdy. No need to frame these as they can go straight on the wall.
Here are some pictures of the storyboard. The front:

And from the side:

A new product is the assembled album. These albums are truly luxurious. They come in different sizes, e.g. 5 by 5, 8 by 8 etc. Finished with leather cover and with their own dust sleeve they are a more upmarket way to showcase your photos when they are not on the wall. The photos are chosen and the lab print them and assemble the album completely.
A few photos as example. How they are presented:

What could be more lovely than a lively little girl full of smiles? Two of them! After taking a scenic route because I entered the wrong co-ordinates in my GPS, I arrived at this families’ lovely home. The girls were immediately friendly and at ease. One immediately in the mood for photos, the other needing some time to relax. Pretty soon though we got a few pictures and later moved outside.
L and K, it was so much fun! I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for a lovely afternoon T, they are very privileged to have such a calm and friendly mother.
Here are your sneak peek, enjoy!
Big sis, L. She needed some encouragement yet the photos I downloaded shows a lot of smiles, so we did manage to capture them.

And little sis, K. A natural in front of the camera.

They weren’t too keen to be photographed together but when they could choose themselves where to go and where I should take the pic, they had fun with it. K picked them each a dandelion to hold on to, specifically for the photo.

And last but certainly not least – chilling out in the hammock:

It was a surprise day today. The canvas of the girls arrived, barely 2 weeks after it was ordered, actually I think more like 10 days. I didn’t get advance notice that it would arrive today so it was such a surprise when I got home from picking up Bianca, to find the huge box waiting for me.
This canvas is a gallery wrap on almost 2 inch frame. It’s a matte finish. The colour is perfect and I just love it.I took some pictures to try to show the craftsmanship but bare with me since I am not a product photographer.
The dimensions is 16inch by 20 inch and 1.5 inch thick (although it looks even thicker)

I was so looking forward to meeting this family as they just sounded super friendly and happy people. I was not mistaken. When I got there I was in awe of the little fairy baby. She immediately had a special place in my heart. The fact that she is exactly as old as Erika (only 2 days difference) I am sure played a part too. Then I met the more shy brother, and wouldn’t you know he is as old as Bianca. So I felt right at home!
I loved our session and hope you did too. Here is your sneak peek, enjoy!
Miss J, being a fairy goddess:

and Mr I, on the slide:

Mom and Dad were both such good sports. When I saw N sitting there looking exceptionally beautiful I had to take a picture.

Seeing that it’s the calm before the storm (since I am fully booked from the 10th) I thought I will update my personal photos a bit. It was fair that I get some of my second daughter since Bianca got her turn yesterday.
Here is little miss opinionated, telling me some kind of interesting story that unfortunately I haven’t been able to unravel. She is walking so good now and loves wearing her little shoes. She kind of stomps around (I think so she could hear them go clunk clunk on the floor).

I had to share these, we took advantage of a beautiful location when I went over to a look at the light in a client’s house. Now I know what beautiful pictures we will get of her girls too!
Bianca is getting too big too soon. I love the second shot of her since we have one where she sits exactly like this when she is about 20 months old, in Dubai in a park, she just had a red hat on. Great comparison shot!

Today the mini accordions arrived and I was very satisfied indeed. These little items are gorgeous. They come prettily wrapped with a elastic bow. A Classic piece that is fun, modern and small enough to carry around. What a wonderful little gift for a grandmother!
Each panel is 3 inches by 3 inches and the accordions are double sided. On each side there is 4 photos. This one has an aquamarine front and back, but there are 17 colours to choose from.
All clients with larger orders will also receive 2 of these from me as a gift. Keep them for yourselves or give them out as presents. They can also be ordered (in sets of two) once the print requirement has been met.
What we found extra amazing as well is that these were ordered from overseas only 5 days ago, and already delivered at my door this morning!
This is how they are presented:

And this was the outside panel, on the inside there are 4 photos as well. I chose these to be printed on pearl paper as it gives it a pearlised shine. Lovely and luxurious.
