Basically what we did today at Mall of the Emirates is run after Eli-Ann with the camera as fast as we can. Can we call it a session? I don’t know? Let’s call it a mini session, maybe that’s closer to the truth, or maybe I’ll create a section on my website called chaos or life happens or something like that for sessions like these. They are super fun, but boy, certainly not all planned and portrait like.

I particularly liked the part where she went into the display area and modeled with the manikins or where she ran around like a crazy person running and laughing. She reminded me so much of Bianca at that age. She is exactly the same height as Bianca at that age and she even have roughly the same birthday (just 2 years apart) so when I look at her she steals my heart.

The day started early today. I set up a mock studio in my soon-to-be real studio room and tried my first hi key shoot with Erika. She didn’t understand really that she was supposed to smile.

I gave Erika extra hugs and kisses before we were off for the day.  Here is my baby at 10 months:

It was such a pleasure to spend some time with Kate and Kristie and I hope to do so soon again. Here are just two pictures as sneak peek for you. I realised today I might lose the rest of my weight sooner as its such a fun way to chase after the youngsters. She sure was a lively little thing. And so friendly.

Twinkle Twinkle, little star.. and Baa, baa, black sheep. wonder why that keeps playing in my head. And Laa laa has a fond place in my heart now too.

Love you Kate.

We “picked” a flower for Emma today in our garden for her autograph book. It was the first time I ever took pictures of anything without a face and not a smile.

I have been known to say give me something with a smile and I’ll take a picture of it. I liked playing around with the focus, just didnt like having to sit outside for almost 40 minutes to wait for the “fog” to lift from my camera lens. It’s really humid outside. When I came back inside, DH had fallen asleep watching sport on TV, astonished that I am still outside, after only wanting to go out quickly to go take a picture of a flower:)

Well, my very first post. I always said I should build a blog and at last I did so. Somewhere I wrote more about myself but can’t seem to find it, so let me rehash it here:

I am originally from South Africa and now living in Abu Dhabi, UAE with my wonderful husband and very exuberant eldest daughter, Bianca and youngest addition Erika.

I always loved arts and photography but I must admit it was the need to take 6 month pictures of Erika that drove me to look into doing this more seriously.

Once I started the passion took hold and I just can’t stop myself. I love this like I love my children. This artform becomes part of you.

Follow with me through this interesting and fun ride…
